Unique Journeys is a division of the Travel Center Inc. Unique Journeys offers "out-of-the-ordinary" hosted, escorted or individual trips to such exotic destinations as India, Nepal, Egypt and Africa
Suraj Zutshi: "Our trips are extraordinary because I am from India and my family is still there. My father has been in the travel business in India for 45 years, so I have hundreds of contacts there. I know the country and speak the language, so we give travelers an experience they can't get on any other tour. For example, we always have a cocktail party at my family's home, where travelers get to meet my family and other Indians from all walks of life. They really get a chance to experience the culture--it's a very personal, intimate touch." |
Suraj Zutshi was born in New Delhi, India. He has a master's degree in history from the University of Delhi. After coming to America in 1971, he earned a degree in travel administration from Columbia University. He has been a Certified Travel Counselor since 1977. Suraj is one of the few certified travel counselors in Nevada. He has taught a South Pacific and Asia course at TMCC, and he writes and lectures about travel scams and how to avoid them. His wife, Donna, and he opened The Travel Center in Reno in 1981. Donna has a degree in business and has worked in the hotel and airline industries as well as retail travel and tour operations. She has worked for tour operators in Honolulu and San Francisco, for Hawaiian Airlines. She was responsible for room reservations for conventions at the MGM Grand (now the Hilton) from 1977-1979.
