Important Trip Information
July 4
Depart Portland for Beijing, via Los Angeles.
July 5
Arrive Beijing. You will be met and transferred to the
Capital Hotel.
July 6
After breakfast, visit Tiananmen Square, then enter the
Forbidden City, home of the Chinese Emperors for more than
500 years. After lunch, visit the Temple of Heaven, one of
the best examples of Ming dynasty architecture in Beijing.
Enjoy an Acrobatic Show in the evening. BLD
July 7
The highlight today is an excursion to the Great Wall
– Badaling. Enjoy the dramatic vistas and marvel at the
Wall as it climbs and descends steep ridges and narrow
valleys. After lunch visit the Summer Palace, where the
Empress Dowager Ci Xi would go to escape the heat of the
city.Enjoy a Beijing Roast Duck dinner in the evening. BLD
July 8
After breakfast, enjoy a rickshaw tour of the
Hutongs(family visit included); the old city neighborhoods
of narrow alleyways and courtyard gardens hidden behind
Beijing’s modern façade. Visit Prince Gong’s Palace,
the Drum Tower, and old-style courtyard houses still
inhabited by Beijing residents. After lunch, transfer to the
airport for your flight to Xian. Transfer to the Hyatt
Hotel. BLD
July 9
Today’s highlight is a visit to the Archaeological
Museum, home to more than 6,000 terra-cotta warriors and
horses excavated from the tomb of the first emperor of the
Qin Dynasty. After lunch, visit the Neolithic Village of
Banpo which contains relics from the earliest known
inhabitants of China. In the evening, attend a Tang Dynasty
dumpling dinner show. BLD
July 10
Morning tours to the ancient city walls and the Big
Wild Goose Pagoda. After lunch, Transfer to the airport for
your flight to Chongqing. Upon arrival, enjoy a city tour
including Erling Park, then pre-board China Regal Cruise
ship after dinner. BLD

Begin your spectacular Yangtze River Cruise! Start each
morning with a Taichi class on the sun-deck. Enjoy the
scenery of the magnificent Three Gorges. Shore excursion to
Fengdu, a small town full of local flavor. BLD

As you continue sailing downstream, view the Qutang, Wu
and Xiling Gorges and Enjoy a side trip up Shennong Stream
via a pea boat. Today you will also pass Three Gorges Dam
5-stage shiplocks. BLD
July 13
Continue your Yangtze cruise with excursions to the
Three Gorges Dam Project in San Dou Ping. Navigate Gezhou
Shiplock around noon time. BLD
July 14
Disembark at Wuhan at about noon. Upon arrival, the
guide will meet you at the Pier and take you to lunch. Visit
East Lake, Provincial Museum and Yellow Crane Tower.
Overnight at the Mayflower Hotel in Wuhan. BLD
July 15
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai.
Upon arrival, transfer to the Central Hotel for three
nights. Dinner at a local restaurant, After dinner, drive
along Huaihai Road, the former French Concession area. BLD

16
Morning sightseeing starts with the Shanghai Museum,
one of the best museums In the country. After lunch, visit
the Yu Garden in the old Town, and the Jade Buddha Temple.

Day trip to Suzhou via private motor coach. Highlights
here include the Garden Of Humble Administration, Tiger Hill
–symbol of Suzhou, a boat ride on the Canal and Silk
Factory. BLD
July 18
Morning is free for you to explore the city. In the
afternoon, transfer to the airport For your flight back to
Los Angeles, with a connection to Portland. B

Single
supplement $850. Please add departure taxes of $52
each(subject to change).
Deposit of $300
per person required at time of reservation. Balance due by
May 1, 2006
Cancellation
Insurance is strongly recommended and should be purchased
when the deposit is paid so as to include coverage for any
pre-existing conditions.

Price includes: Transpacific airfare from Portland; flights
within China; all hotels, meals and entertainment as listed;
sightseeing as per itinerary; roundtrip
airport/hotel/airport transfers in each city with luggage
handling of one bag per person.
Does not include: Chinese visa($80); optional travel
insurance; personal expenses and gratuities.
